Nan’s STORY
The past few decades of my life have revolved around two things: My family & my crafting.
Ever since I broke my arm, I’ve been diving head first into the world of crochet. With nothing to occupy my time after my injury, I spent my days inside creating. For many years I used my free time, and spare yarn, to craft stockpiles of preemie hats and booties for nearby hospitals. Using my passion to provide for family and strangers alike is one of the highlights of my life.
Even after healing from injury, I still spend time every day to work on a project and appreciate the power of my passion.
I was around 6 years old when I asked my Grammy to teach me crochet.
I used to watch the women of my family crochet and sew, creating new and beautiful things with just their hands and minds. At such a young age nothing amazed me more than the creative power demonstrated by the women in my life. Seeing these beautiful and talented women work has made me fall in love with the craft and given me the motivation to learn to create patterns at home. Every item I make is a reminder of the time I spent with these amazing women and provides comfort knowing the familial bonds are kept alive through a shared passion passed down through generations of strong creative women.
